Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE): Which diet is best?
Fachkreise Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is considered a non-IgE cell mediated food allergy. Dietary elimination therapy seems to be an effective way to treat EoE, but it is rarely possible to determine the relevant food which has to be eliminated from the patient’s diet before feeding. Given the fact, that elimination diets do have a huge impact on the patients quality of life, rigorous diets should not be the first choice. MeinAllergiePortal talked to Marion Groetch, MS, RDN, Director of Nutrition Services, Jaffe Food Allergy Institute, Division of Allergy & Immunology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York about how to implement an effective and „patient friendly“elimination diet for the management of EoE.
